I have a 48 4 bulb t5 fixture over my 40 gallon long. 3 blue and a giesmann 6500k is my favorite for 4 bulb. However this is opinion and purely anecdotal. After brushing up on my reading for light wavelenths and how coral benefits from it i am going to pick up new bulbs for my t5ho 6 bulb fixture.

The color of the aquarium lighting is a very personal choice. Blue actinic fiji blue ge 6500 blue it is only recently that i included a 6500 in my fixture instead using a aqua spezial. I believe that the replacement of the aqua spezial with the 6500 has resulted in better faster growth of my corals. Drop that purple and get a 6500 bulb buddy.

I am running front to back. I m looking for something to promote growth. Ati t5 bulbs use the latest advances in phosphors which make the color and manufacturing techniques to produce bulbs with higher output better coloration. Lps and softies i m planning on adding another daylight bulb and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions.
