From there you could expand the dawnguard into a veritable army which you d actually see out in the world fighting vampires like you see the imperial vs stormcloak spawns. The only benefit i see with siding with the dawnguard is not getting pestered by dawnguard soldiers for what feels like everytime i use fast travel. I have saved the game before choosing to become a vampire lord or not and done the first quest for harkon but wanting to know incase i feel the benefits arnt good enough and revert back to not be a vamp.
